Sony, Ebay and idiots

So with the arrival of November 17, the Sony PS3 hits the shelves in retail locations all across the US. In spite of reports of store closings, massive resales, ebay and delayed pregnancies, the story that stands out to me most is the one about ebayers who screw with auctions. Some group of idiots don't like to see other make a profit from their time, so they bid ebay auctions up to a hundred-million dollars and then applaud one another for doing so. One comment, typical of this situation is,
Mind you, I find it neat that those auctions went that way. I have no pity for sellers that are taking consoles out of the hands of "normal" people (who don't make 6-figures) that actually want to play them.
They demonize people inclined to make a profit off of their lust for the latest and greatest, well, I'll argue against half of that and the other half will be moot in a few days. Back to the point, those who encourage this behavior on ebay frustrate me. There are a few things I notice about the people who make this argument and the argument itself:

  1. The seller does not likely make 6-figures and if they did, they would not likely be selling the PS3
  2. The auction jacker thinks he is doing a service, usually, yet all they really accomplish is preventing someone who wants a system from getting one.
  3. The jacker is probably mad that he doesn't have one or can't get one because if he had one, he would be too busy actually playing it to screw with other people.

This behavior is frequent with any new and pricey release, I had it happen to me selling my release day Xbox360 (Though I did end up selling it)

Eh, I had a point to make when I started writing this, but I forgot it, so, any thoughts?
